Tod Seelie

Photographer

Tod Seelie has photographed in over twenty-five countries on five different continents. Originally from Cleveland, he moved to Brooklyn in 1997. Tod was a founding member of The Miss Rockaway Armada, and continued on to travel with both manifestations of the Swimming Cities. He is also a regular contributor to the arts and culture website Fecal Face, the music site Noisey.com and was recently profiled by the New York Times and quoted below:

"His images at times elevate mere weirdness to a more striking realm of visual intrigue. Strange, vivid, baffling and relentlessly unexplained, they leave their viewers transfixed..."

His work has appeared in publications such as The NY Times, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, Spin, Men’s Journal, Juxtapoz, Thrasher, Vice, American Way, Art Forum, Art In America, Flash Art and Adbusters, among others.

Select clients include Lexus, Microsoft, Deitch Projects, Vice Media, Cornerstone Promotion, Flavorpill, Fat Wreck Chords, Jagjaguwar Records, Secretly Canadian Records, Dead Oceans Records as well as fashion labels Rogan, Loomstate and Anon Optics.

Tod has exhibited work in solo and group shows in New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Paris, Milan, Sydney, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and at Mass MoCA and the Philadelphia Art Alliance. His work has also appeared in photography books, such as The Vice Photo Book, Hijacked and Backyard Shakedown.
