Congratulations on your purchase of Seagate Business Storage featuring Seagate NAS OS. Designed to satisfy the data sharing and backup needs of small, medium, and branch offices, Seagate NAS OS is an intuitive interface accessible to a wide range of administrators. Additionally, NAS OS offers a rich set of collaborative and data protection tools to help manage your content.

This manual will guide you through the process of configuring NAS OS on your Seagate NAS and will assist you in troubleshooting any issues that might arise. If you encounter problems, check Getting Help. Note that most problems can be resolved by resetting the product to factory conditions (see NAS OS Rescue and Repair).

Client OS:

Network:

  • Computer with an Ethernet network adapter
  • Ethernet switch or router 10/100/1000 (Mb/s)

 

Important info: Your NAS's performance can be affected by such external forces as network activity, hardware, distance, and setup. For optimal performance, make certain that you are using Gigabit Ethernet routers and peripherals, and that the computers on the network support Gigabit Ethernet.
