The Security menu
The Security section provides the following functions: You may click on the functions in figure 5 to learn about each one of them.
How to log in and log off The log in function allows you to log in to the secure zone. This allows you to access the information stored in the secure partition (zone). To log in:
This is a toggle function. After successfully logging in to the secure partition, the Login button will change to a Logoff button. To log off from a secure partition, click the Logoff button. You may only access the public or secured partition one at a time. After you login to your secured partition, you will not be able to access your public partition and vice versa.
The Change Your Password function allows you to change the password used to access the secure zone. To change your password:

The Write Protect function allows you to protect against accidental deletion of the data on the selected partition. About secure partitions The default configuration for the Pocket Hard Drive is to have one public partition that can be read from and written to by anyone that can plug in the drive. As an option, you can use a password-protected secure partition. You
can also write-protect the drive using the Seagate Toolkit application.
The Seagate Toolkit keeps track of the partition type (public and secure)
and the write protect status (write-protected and not write-protected)
and displays a unique system tray icon for each combination of these drive
states. Refer to the "About the System Tray Icons" section below.
