About the Seagate Toolkit software (Windows only)

The Seagate Toolkit software allows you to access the drive's advanced features and view the status of the drive in one convenient area. The following lists some of the common useful features:

System Requirements

The Seagate Toolkit requires Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, or Windows 98SE and at least 5 Mbytes of available disc space on your normal hard drive.

Installation

  1. Make sure that the Pocket Hard Drive is plugged in to your computer and recognized by your operating system. If your Pocket Hard Drive can be seen from Windows Explorer or when you click on the My Computer icon, you are ready to install the Seagate Toolkit program.
  2. Log in as the administrator of your Windows system. If you are the only user, you are considered the administrator.
  3. Locate the Toolkit.exe program on the Seagate Utility CD. This file is located at the root (top) level of the CD.
  4. Double-click on the Toolkit.exe filename/icon.>
  5. Follow the instructions provided on your screen. The default installation location is: C:\Program Files\SeagateToolkit
