RetroBackup Software

RetroBackup.exe is an application that, when loaded, will customize the OneTouch III Turbo Edition and/or OneTouch III FireWire 800 drives' OneTouch button so that it will launch a Retrospect Express HD 2.0 backup automatically.

Note: This program works solely with Maxtor OneTouch III Turbo Edition and OneTouch III FireWire 800 External Storage drives. It does not work with other OneTouch III External Storage Products. You must have Administrator Permissions to install this software on your computer. Prior to running this application, you must have previously installed OneTouch III Vista Update software, which can be found:

 

  • Included on the black-labeled CD located in newer OneTouch III Turbo Edition and/or OneTouch III FireWire 800 kits.
  • Available for download as OT3_Turbo_Vista_Update.iso or OT3_Turbo_Vista_Update.zip available from Seagate's OneTouch III Support Page.

Instructions

  • Step 1

    Download the RetroBackup.exe file from the Seagate Website to your Windows Vista computer.

  • Step 2

    Browse to and double-click on the RetroBackup.exe file.

  • Step 3

    Windows Vista will prompt you with a User Account Control window for RetD368.tmp. Click Continue. The program will automatically run in the background within 5-10 seconds.

  • DOWNLOAD
    Step 4

    Press the OneTouch button on your OneTouch III Turbo Edition and/or OneTouch III FireWire 800 drive. Retrospect Express HD 2.0 will:

    • Launch the Retrospect Express HD 2.0 Main Menu where you can setup your first backup.
    • Launch a backup if Retrospect Express HD 2.0 was previously configured for a backup.
