Click network
Then click device name
i.e. Seagate-123456

Complete the Seagate Central Quick Start Guide. Your drive should appear in Windows Explorer under the Network section.

Anyone on your home network can now save and access files from the Public folder of your device.


If it doesn't appear in one minute, download and run the Seagate Central Discovery tool.

Seagate Central helps you organize and access your digital life in one location.

To enable these features:
  • Create users and private folders
  • Access content remotely
  • Personalize your device
It is recommended that you update the firmware of Seagate Central to take advantage of the latest features before loading data onto your drive. Once you've completed setup, do the following:
  1. Sign in to Seagate Central.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Open the Advanced tab and select Firmware Update.
  4. If the Update Now button is not available, click the Check For Update button.
  5. Wait for the activity indicator to stop.
  6. If the Update Now button is still not available, your system is up to date. If the Update Now button is highlighted, follow the instructions shown.
