Does the SeaTools diagnostic work
with Linspire?
Only the SeaTools Desktop version of SeaTools works with
Linspire systems. A bootable CD ISO copy of the SeaTools
Desktop diagnostic is located on the hard drive at (root)\mycomputer\mydocuments\ISOs\SEATOOLD_EN.ISO.
SeaTools Enterprise Edition is designed for SCSI drives and
the Seagate / Linspire bundle is shipped on an ATA drive.
SeaTools Online is not designed to install on a system running
Linspire.
How do I add a second hard drive to my
Linspire system?
Linspire automatically detects hardware and peripherals each
time the system boots so additional hardware, like an additional
hard drive, can be added at any time.
Due to the complexities and interactions of hardware, firmware,
and software, not all hardware configurations will be compatible
with one another under Linspire. Configuring and testing a
machine of the specific configuration is highly recommended.

document FAQ # 365.
If I return a warranty drive to
Seagate directly, does the exchange drive come pre-loaded
with Linspire?
No. However, users who purchased a Seagate Barracuda 7200
drive pre-loaded with Linspire may obtain a Linspire install
disc as follows:
- Burn their own Linspire Installation disk from the Linspire
Installation ISO file on the drive located at (root)\mycomputer\mydocuments\ISOs\Linspire-OEM-4.0.581-3.ISO.
- Burn their own Linspire Installation disk from the Linspire

How do I create a backup of the Linspire
installation files?
An image of the Linspire has been included on your hard
drive. To create the CD from the image requires that you have
a CD-R or CD-RW drive installed on your computer. If you have
a CD-R/CD-RW drive, open the CD Burning application included
in Linspire by following these steps:
- Click the L button located in the bottom left corner of
your screen.
- Go to the Programs menu.
- Select the Audio & MP3 Category.
- Choose the CD Burner Application.
- Once the CD Burner Application opens choose the Tools
menu at the top of the screen.
- Select Write an ISO image.
- Click the folder icon next to the Image to Write line.
- Browse to the .ISO image file on the hard drive.
- Click the Write button.
How does Linspire backup and restore?
There are explicit instructions on backing up and restoring
Linspire files at http://www.linspire.com/faq.php?faq=faq549
(FAQ549).
Can I dual boot to Microsoft Windows
XP and Linspire with a pre-loaded Linspire drive?
Yes. However, it requires you to reinstall Linspire after
installing any other operating systems you'd like to boot
with which will require installation disks for both operating
systems. The recommended steps to perform this are:
- Create a Linspire Installation Disk from the Linspire
Installation ISO file that came pre-loaded on your Seagate
Barracuda 7200 drive located at (root)\mycomputer\mydocuments\ISOs\Linspire-OEM-4.0.581-3.ISO.
- Install whichever operating systems you'd like on your
hard drive (Be sure to create an extra primary partition
with a minimum of at least 2 GBs for Linspire to operate
on).
- Once the other operating system is installed and the partition
created, perform an "Advanced Install" of Linspire
onto the available partition with the disk you created in
step 1. You'll now be prompted for which operating system
you'd like to boot up into at start-up time.

How do I test my Seagate Barracuda
7200 drive pre-loaded with Linspire?
For testing the drive the best resource is Seagate's SeaTools
Desktop version. A bootable CD ISO copy of the SeaTools
Desktop diagnostic is located on the hard drive at (root)\mycomputer\mydocuments\ISOs\SEATOOLD_EN.ISO.

of available hard disc space, a CD-ROM drive, and an internet
connection. Source: Linspire
