The TCG-compliant, Self-Encrypting Drive¹ option keeps data secure where it lives: on the hard drive.

Moreover, Seagate Instant SecureErase™ technology renders all data on the SED unreadable in less than a second. This feature eliminates the need to overwrite or physically destroy drives, allowing organisations to return, repurpose or sell their hard drives securely.
