Overview:
Express_HD_JP_1_1_127.exe is a self-extracting archive/installer containing Retrospect Express HD for use with original, Maxtor OneTouch & Maxtor OneTouch II drives. This program will only work on compatible, Windows Operating Systems (it is not for use on Macintosh computers nor Windows Server-Based Operating Systems). This file will install the English language version of the upgrade. This EMC Retrospect Express HD software upgrade is available to only Maxtor OneTouch & Maxtor OneTouch II customers that have original installations of Dantz Retrospect Express HD 1.0 installed on their Windows PC.

Instructions:

1. Power down and disconnect your OneTouch drive(s) from your Windows PC.
2. Download the file Express_HD_JP_1_1_127.exe to your Windows desktop.
3. Once downloaded, double-click on the Express_HD_JP_1_1_127.exe file.
4. When prompted, click Unzip to extract files to your PC.
5. When the software finishes extracting, a window displays notifying you that 11 file(s) unzipped successfully. Click OK to proceed. At this point, EMC Retrospect Express HD 1.1 Update prepares to install to your PC.
6. The Welcome screen is displayed. Click Next to continue.
7. The License Agreement is displayed. Review this agreement, click on the I accept the terms of the license agreement Radio Button and click Next to continue.
8. The customer information screen is displayed. In the fields provided type in your User Name and your Organization (optional).
9. Click on either the Anyone who uses the computer (all users) or Only for me Radio Button and click Next to continue.
10. The Setup Type screen is displayed. Maintain the Recommended setting and click Next to continue.
11. The Ready to Install the Program screen is displayed. Click Install to start the installation update. At this point, a status window displays the installation progress of the software.
12. When finished the InstallShield Window Complete screen is displayed. Click Finish to complete the installation.
13. Shutdown your PC and connect your OneTouch/OneTouch II drive to your PC. When both power and interface (ie, USB or Firewire) cables are securely attached, turn on the OneTouch/OneTouch II drive.
14. The installation is complete. Turn on your PC.

Additional Information:

Seagate suggests that you install the Maxtor OneTouch Settings Update, if needed, in conjunction with EMC Retrospect 1.1 Update. To determine if you need this update:

1. Open My Computer.

2. If you see an icon called Maxtor Locked Drives, then install the OneTouch Settings Update.

3. If you do not see an icon called Maxtor Locked Drives, then the OneTouch Settings Update is not necessary.
