> Seagate came to Northern Ireland in 1993 with the establishment of a wafer fabrication facility at Springtown Industrial Estate in Londonderry. Production began in 1994 and today the facility develops and manufactures the read-write heads for hard drives. Using some of the most advanced technology in existence, the Springtown facility is the largest factory of its type in the recording head industry, supplying over a million heads every day for Seagate disc drives. Weather
Ireland enjoys a temperate climate influenced by the relatively warm waters of the Gulf Stream in whose path the island lies. The coldest and wettest months are December, January and February with temperatures ranging between 4 to 7 degrees Celsius (39 to 44 degrees Fahrenheit). July and August are the warmest months with temperatures ranging from 14 to 20 degrees Celsius (57 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit).

 

Education
All state schools in Northern Ireland follow the Northern Ireland Curriculum, based on England and Wales'system, and offer a rich complement of studies including music, technology, foreign language and religious education in addition to the core subjects.
