The Tekne Awards recognize Minnesota’s outstanding technology achievements and leaders. The award recognized Seagate’s Savvio® line of 2.5-inch enterprise hard drives, developed in Minnesota. The Savvio product, 70% smaller than its predecessor, allows for an increased number of drives per system and provides higher performance and reliability while ensuring ultra-low power consumption. The product is well suited for a broad range of mainstream enterprise applications in both large enterprise data centers and small- to medium-size businesses. Offering 10,000 and 15,000-RPM performance, the drives enable mission-critical storage systems to run cooler, faster and more reliably, helping businesses reduce costs and improve efficiency. Presented by the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) in partnership with LifeScience Alley and Minnesota Technology, Inc. (MTI), the Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota’s best and brightest technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management of technology in Minnesota.
