Both products will be available this month from major Australian resellers and retailers. "To help address the continuing market need for simple, easy-to-use network storage for the small business and consumer market, Seagate is focused on delivering a broad array of fully-integrated products with robust feature sets to simplify the task of storing, protecting, managing and sharing content," said Kevin Lee, Seagate managing director of APAC Sales. "Whether in a small business or home environment, our customers benefit from years of engineering innovation and market-leading features to manage the fast rise in consumption and creation of commercial and user-generated digital content."
Seagate Mirra Sync and Share Personal Server With Seagate Mirra Personal Server, small office and home office users can simply and securely share photos, files and documents with other networked computers or with anyone who has an e-mail address. Ideal for small business users, stored and shared files can be automatically synchronized among networked computers, ensuring others are up to date with the latest changes to key documents. Seagate Mirra Personal Server is easy to install. In just minutes small office users will be ready to sync and share, while enjoying networked file protection. It is the only product that combines all of these benefits, along with free online user accounts, allowing secure remote access and file sharing. In the event that a computer hard drives fails, all data backed up on the Seagate Mirra Sync and Share Personal Server will be restored.
Maxtor Shared Storage II The Maxtor Shared Storage II solution automatically backs up business files, accounting records, videos, photos, music and other digital files stored on multiple networked computers every day without the hassle of swapping out tapes, CDs or DVDs. It provides nearly effortless data management and security for up to 20 PC or Mac users, which allows small business owners or "family technology officers" to free themselves of the mundane, yet critical task of ensuring that every computer's precious data is backed up. The 1TB Maxtor Shared Storage II solution from Seagate is designed with quick network installation, and there's no need for any IT staff or special technical knowledge. A new high-speed Gigabit Ethernet connection ensures fast data transfers and file sharing between computers on wired and wireless networks. The Maxtor Shared Storage II solution comes in a dual-drive configuration with storage capacities of one terabyte (1,000GB). It can be set up for RAID 1 (disk mirroring), which makes an exact copy of the files on one drive to the other, so if one drive fails for any reason there's a duplicate version on the other drive as a backup. Organizing digital files is a breeze with the exclusive Drag and Sort(tm) feature, which automatically identifies and sorts more than 100 different file types and puts them in specific music, photo, movie, web, software or documents folders. Users drag and drop files into their desktop icon and they're automatically sorted. When connected to a home network, the Maxtor Shared Storage II solution can stream media content on compatible UPnP AV digital media adapters for viewing or playing music, movies or photos on entertainment devices throughout the network. Designed to DLNA guidelines (www.dlna.org), the Maxtor Shared Storage II solution is compatible with a broad array of digital entertainment devices from leading CE vendors and they require no active PC or Mac on the network to share and stream digital files.
Availability and Pricing Both network storage products will carry a one-year limited warranty and will be available this month from technology retailers in Australia including Harris Technology and Harvey Norman.
