Now in its tenth year, the Best of Innovations Awards are given to the most outstanding products in all facets of the consumer technology industry. A preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade press evaluate qualifying products based on user value, novel features, contributions to quality of life and innovative design attributes. The Seagate Mirra Sync and Share Personal Server features a new innovative design, capacities up to 500GB and support for multiple PCs and Macintosh computers. Mirra includes a free online service so users can remotely access and share files securely and selectively with friends, family and co-workers - anytime, anywhere - over the Internet. Mirra also provides continuous, automatic backup so that users can rest assured in knowing that their data is safely backed up, including previous versions of files archived back in time. When working within a group, Mirra also automatically synchronizes data between computers so that multiple users can easily work with the exact same copy of a file. For added protection, your computers' data backed up to the Mirra is protected by Seagate's three-year, MirraGuard Data Guarantee. If your Mirra server is unable to recover data lost off your system, Seagate will assist you in recovering the data, and even spend up to $1,000 for forensic data recovery services to make sure your data is restored. "Small business owners and connected families need a solution to protect, share and access their valuable data that is simple to install and easy to use. That's what we've delivered with Mirra," said Jim Druckrey, senior vice president and general manager, Seagate Branded Solutions. "Being recognized with the premier design award at CES reflects our legacy of innovation and commitment in delivering the most powerful, intuitive and reliable storage and backup solutions on the market. Seagate continues to make it easier to access and protect data from wherever, whenever." This new award for Mirra builds on prior accolades, including the 2005 Technology Product of the Year Award by Small Business Technology Magazine (SBTM) and notoriety from PC Magazine for being one of the 2005 Best Products of the Year.
