![]() Seagate and PortoMedia Announce Collaboration for Digital Content Distribution Seagate's D.A.V.E. Technology Platform now compatible with PortoMedia Movie Point Stations SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - January 7, 2008 - Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX) and PortoMedia, the leader in the emerging market for high-speed, secure digital content distribution to the home and to portable devices, announce today that Seagate’s Digital Audio Video Experience™ (D.A.V.E.™) Technology Platform, that provides substantial wireless storage capacity for digital files, is now compatible with PortoMedia’s Movie Point Stations for quick and easy downloads of standard and high-definition digital content such as movies, TV programs, music and more. This collaboration with Seagate and PortoMedia allows for consumers to download up to 12 high-definition movies or 50 standard definition movies onto the Seagate D.A.V.E. Technology Platform for easy transfer to various playback devices such as cell phones, PCs, laptops, set-top boxes, PMPs, and much more. A fully secure standard definition DVD quality movie can be downloaded from the PortoMedia Movie Point to the Seagate D.A.V.E. Technology Platform in approximately 17 seconds, and PortoMedia’s next generation product will allow users to download two HD movies in approximately 60 seconds. Each Movie Point Station is loaded with between 500 and 5,000 titles and is refreshed regularly via satellite/DSL with the latest movie and TV content. The consumer has the option of renting or purchasing content.
