Seagate Technology Work Environment: Development and Feedback Our employees have access to learning resources, many of which are now online through Seagate's myLearning website, to enhance their job skills and help achieve their career goals. Our MAP (Maximizing Alignment and Performance) program provides an online, interactive platform for Seagate professionals to create development plans that link to and support individual and corporate goals. Our manufacturing workforce is also trained in the competencies necessary to drive individual and company success. And policies providing for reimbursement of external training that is job-related are also available to help employees acquire job-related skills. Each year, employees have a performance evaluation discussion with their direct management. Professional employees, however, are encouraged through the MAP program to discuss their goals and performance updates regularly during the year as well. This helps ensure that performance management is an ongoing process of learning, growing and achieving, not an annual “administrative event.” Seagate also requests feedback from our global employees regularly through the global employee Focus! survey. Results from the survey are shared with employees on an online website and managers are expected to complete detailed action plans to improve upon selected survey items. |
