Hard Drive Installation Considerations

Before buying a Seagate harddrive, you should consider the following:

How the Hard Drive Will Be Mounted
The drive you buy must fit in the drive bay of the computer system in which it will be installed. You also must have the correct mounting hardware, which includes screws to secure the drive to the bay and, depending on the size of the drive and the drive bay, mounting brackets or rails.

How the Hard Drive Will Be Cabled
You must have the correct data and power cables for the specific drive. Cables are not interchangeable among drive interfaces.

How the Hard Drive Will Relate to Other Drives in the Computer System (Jumper Settings)
How you set the jumpers on the new drive determines how the new drive relates to other drives in the computer.
