Remove the encryption password on Mac

  1. When you connect the drive to your Mac you will be prompted to enter your encryption password to mount the drive to your Mac.
  2. Right click on the drive to show the menu and select Decrypt “XXXXXXXX”.
  3. You will need to enter your encryption password and select Turn Off Encryption.
  4. The system will begin to turn off the encryption and never require the password. The decryption will continue in the background, and you can check the status by right clicking on the drive and see if it is still Decrypting “XXXXXXXX”.
