Note: The Seagate Central takes about 3-4 minutes to boot when first connected to power. During that time, the LED will blink different colors, including amber and red. Before trying to determine the status of the LED, Seagate recommends waiting 7-10 minutes to give the drive a chance to boot all the way up.
Solid Amber: The Seagate Central is powering on. If you still have a solid amber light on the top of the Seagate Central after 7-10 minutes, try unplugging the drive from power and connect the power supply into a different outlet, if possible.
Blinking Green: The Seagate Central is in the process of powering on. If you still see a blinking green light after 7-10 minutes, make sure all cables are plugged in properly, especially the Ethernet cable. Ensure it is connected all the way in at both ends. If available, you may also want to try a different port on your router.
Solid Green: The Seagate Central is connected to your network and ready to use.
Blinking Red: The Seagate Central is not connected to your network. If you still see a blinking red light after 7-10 minutes, power cycle the Central by unplugging both the Ethernet cable and the power cable. Once unplugged let it sit for 5 to 10 seconds, then plug everything back in. Make sure the other extremity of the Ethernet cable is plugged all the way in the router. If available, you may also want to try a different port on your router, as well as a different outlet for the power supply. Reconnect both cables and check the LED status again. If after the drive boots you still have a flashing red light, try another Ethernet cable.
No light: The Seagate Central is not getting any power. Make sure the power cable is connected properly. You may want to try connecting the Seagate Central in a different outlet.
