Enhancements
-
Support for SRM 5.1
-
Support for new hardware models
Fixes
-
Improved logging to match certification requirements.
-
Remove workaround for read-only volume mapping limitation in older firmware.
Prerequisites
The AssuredSAN SRA requires the following:
-
Two instances of VMware Site Recovery Manager SRM 5.0 or 5.1. See http://www.vmware.com/support/srm/srm_releasenotes_5_0_0.html for additional requirements for SRM.
-
Two supported AssuredSAN arrays with replication and snapshot licenses installed. Both arrays should have the same host interface (iSCSI or FC) configuration.
Installation
-
Install vCenter and SRM. Do not configure SRM yet.
-
Configure replication sets on the arrays using the array’s embedded command line or web browser interface. Be sure to define a "remote system" on both arrays to identify the peer array.
-
Open assuredsan-sra-2.1.0.94.zip and run assuredsan-sra/setup.exe to install the SRA. The SRA will be installed in a folder called "storage/sra/AssuredSAN" underneath the SRM installation directory.
-
Configure SRM to use the SRA using the SRM Plugin in vSphere Client.
Support
If you need to contact VMware for support, you may need to provide information about the SRA name, version number, and checksums. This information can be found by running the get-info.bat script in the SRA installation directory "storage/sra/AssuredSAN" which is located in the SRM installation folder.
