CPSE Shenzhen (China Public Security Expo, Shenzhen) is one of the largest and the most authoritative security shows in Asia. With a history of 16 years, CPSE was the first exhibition in the industry to be held in China.
A key cornerstone of the show will be the showcase of video surveillance solutions, a sector that is moving rapidly towards integrated security products that consolidate operator consoles, digital imaging and video storage into one comprehensive security solution. These systems rely heavily on hard drives to meet the massive storage requirements of 24x7 full-motion and high-definition video.
“Video surveillance implementations today span many vertical market segments, from retail and small-to-medium business to the enterprise. Systems must run 24x7, and the reliability of the hard drive in the system is critically important,” said Kevin Lee, Seagate managing director, APAC Channel Sales and Marketing. “Seagate is the industry leader in the surveillance hard disc field, delivering a complete range of surveillance-optimized hard drives including the SV35 Series™, Barracuda ES™ and EE25 Series™ drives.”
* SV35 Series for Indoor Surveillance
The need to safeguard information and property has prompted more effective indoor video surveillance measures. Seagate® SV35 Series hard drives enable greater capacity, reliability, performance and features in digital video surveillance systems and applications through combining Seagate’s latest advancements in hard drive technology with features designed specifically for digital video surveillance recording. With about eight times the capacity of a 160GB hard drive, a single 1TB SV35 hard drive enables a multitude of video cameras to be deployed, significantly increasing the cost-effectiveness of the S-DVR system. SV35 hard drives are also specified for reliable operation at ambient temperatures of up to 75° C, helping to improve system life in environments that would challenge other drives.
* Barracuda ES Series for Enterprise/IP Surveillance
Large-scale surveillance demands massive amounts of storage in the form of multi-drive RAID-based storage solutions. Seagate’s Barracuda ES drive is ideally suited for enterprise class video surveillance. The Barracuda ES.2 drive uses second-generation perpendicular recording technology to provide up to one terabyte of storage in a single, 4-platter hard drive. This 7200-RPM drive with best-in-class reliability and rotational vibration tolerance was developed for 24x7 availability in high-density, nearline storage applications. The Barracuda ES.2 drive comes with in-drive data integrity protection guaranteed through Seagate IOEDC/IOECC technology and is available with a choice of either SATA or SAS interfaces for convenient system integration.
* EE25 Series for Ruggedized Video Surveillance
Mobile surveillance is rapidly gaining favor with law enforcement agencies and the military, while outdoor surveillance has become increasingly important in safeguarding public security. Seagate’s EE25 Series hard disc drive is designed for the growing digital storage needs of extreme environment applications, delivering up to 80 Gigabytes of reliable storage in hostile environments – heat, humidity and vibration. In addition, Seagate is bringing the market-leading SATA interface to extreme environment applications.
Seagate is the worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of hard disc drives, providing products for a wide-range of applications, including Enterprise, Desktop, Mobile Computing, Consumer Electronics and Branded Solutions. Seagate’s business model leverages technology leadership and world-class manufacturing to deliver industry-leading innovation and quality to its global customers, and to be the low cost producer in all markets in which it participates. One gigabyte (GB) is equal to one billion bytes and one terabyte (TB) is equal to 1,000 gigabytes when referring to hard drive capacity. Computer operating systems may use different standards of measurement and report lower capacity. In addition, some of the listed capacity is used for formatting and other functions, and thus, will not be available for data storage. Quantitative usage examples for various applications are for illustrative purposes. Actual quantities will vary based on various factors, including file size, file format, features and application software.
