"This camp gives children the opportunity to share ideas in designing and developing new things to assist them in their daily activities," said Associate Profrofessor, Yeun Poovarawan, vice president of Information at Kasetsart University. "Through our experience in organizing this event, we have seen how it has been a catalyst for encouraging the young to pursue an interest in science and technology."
The camp will be held from April 23- 29 at the National Agricultural Support and Training Center, Kampaengsan, Nakorn Pathom province.
"Our company is fueled by innovation, teamwork and technical excellence," said Jeff Nygaard, Seagate's vice president of Thailand Operations. "At Seagate, our engineers and technologists have a passion for exploring innovative ideas. By supporting the camp's activities, which promote the same values that drive Seagate's success, we hope to instill that same foundation in tomorrow's industry leaders."
Seagate's support of the camp is a reflection of its ongoing commitment to enhancing science and technology educational programs in all its global communities. Seagate also works closely with government, academic and industry representatives in Thailand to develop college courses that better prepare students for careers in high-technology.
Several hands-on activities, including a wide variety of robotic assembly, computer programming and testing, have been lined up for this year's camp, giving participants experiences in critical problem-solving and collaborative skills that go hand-in-hand with technical skills.
