"Seagate is pleased to provide the storage technology that drives Hypertech's LinX network appliances," said Teh Ban Seng, Seagate vice president and managing director, Asia Sales and Marketing. "Seagate's technology leadership and commitment to customer success drive us to provide innovative systems companies, such as Hypertech, with hard drives that deliver the best combination of performance, acoustics and reliability for today's cutting-edge applications."
Specifically designed to target a user's specific applications needs, such as email, file sharing or network services, network appliances can connect to either a public or private network. LinX products promise ease of use with their simple design, functionality and cost-effectiveness. With user-friendly features designed into each product, administration and maintenance can be done by non-IT users as well as system experts. The LinX product line includes: DataVault, TeamWorks and EcMail.
A new way of looking at storage, LinX DataVault can be tailored according to a user's specific requirements. Unlike other network attached storage (NAS) boxes, DataVault supports integrated device electronics (IDE) and small computer system interface (SCSI) hard discs, CD-ROM, CD R/W, CD-Recordable and tape drives.
TeamWorks is a thin-client network computer designed for cost-sensitive applications. Rather than a conventional server with several PCs connected to it, TeamWorks uses one server with several clients loaded into the system.
With the use of LinX EcMail, users no longer need to individually send and receive their e-mails. This e-mail appliance allows a company to send and receive all email with a single system using a single ISP connection and does not need multiple modems and accounts.
To adhere to its vision of Excellent Products, Outstanding Customer Support and Fair Pricing, Hypertech relies heavily on the storage capacity, reliability and performance of Seagate hard disc drives. All LinX products use Seagate U Series, Cheetah and Barracuda hard drives.
"Our favorite Seagate attributes are consistent product performance and quality. We are very familiar with the way Seagate works with RAID (redundant array of independent discs) controllers, and unlike other hard drives, Seagate drives perform smoothly with most RAID controllers since it is the most widely used brand," said Fisher Chua, president of Hypertech Corporation.
"We are very happy with Seagate products, especially with their SCSI drives. Their products are very reliable for mission-critical operations," Chua concluded.
Seagate is the worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of hard disc drives for Enterprise, PC and Consumer Electronics applications. The Company is committed to delivering award-winning products, customer support and reliability, to meet the world's growing demand for information storage.
