JMR and Seagate Debut JuStor Fibre Channel DAS Solution with Intel RAID Technology at N+I

JMR Electronics, Inc. and Seagate Technology today announced the debut of the JuStor 2 Gb direct attached storage solution (DAS), featuring Intel® RAID technology at Networld + Interop in Las Vegas, NV. JuStor is a collaborative solution from JMR, Seagate, and Intel. JuStor is a complete 2 Gb/s direct attached storage infrastructure that features optimal performance, along with the interoperability and system management flexibility to fulfill the needs of enterprise and A/V environments. The JuStor solution can be seen at Intel booth number 7183 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

JuStor is based on the incorporation of leading technology solutions from Intel Corporation, JMR, and Seagate, including Intel's 2 Gb/s Fibre channel host-based RAID controller, JMR's Fortra series sub-system enclosures and Seagate's 2 Gb/s Fibre channel Cheetah disc drives. The RAID controller features the Intel® IOP303 I/O processor, two independent FC2 NL-ports, and an internal Ultra160 SCSI connector. The Intel RAID controller provides excellent data redundancy and performance from two fully independent 2 Gb/s ports, each with a maximum possible throughput of 200 MB/s. Seagate's fibre channel Cheetah disc drives are the leading drives of choice when reliability, performance, and interoperability are critical and are also SAN-mark certified. JMR's Fortra series storage sub system enclosures feature the cabling, termination, and installation versatility to allow numerous high-bandwidth configurations.

JuStor is available in a number of configurations and can easily be expanded to provide storage capacities up to 6.5 terabytes to serve any level of enterprise requirements as well as allowing for future scalability as the needs of businesses grow.

"With our focus and experience in the 2 Gb/s market, it is imperative that we team with companies who have proven technologies that will enhance JMR's own time-to-market execution and strategy," said Duran Alabi, Director of Marketing and Business Development for JMR. "The JuStor 2 Gb/s solution is designed to facilitate effortless storage consolidation and exponential peak performance with applicable 2Gb functionality and operation."

"Intel's 2 Gb/s Fibre Channel RAID solution helps enable high-bandwidth transactions and works seamlessly with JMR and Seagate's own storage solutions," said Chris Croteau, director of marketing of Intel's I/O and Bridges Division.

"As the information needs of companies continue to grow, the ability to manage and have access to the wealth of both new and existing data becomes even more critical," said Gordy Lutz, Seagate marketing manager, Enterprise Storage Group. "Having high-speed access along with system reliability are areas where a Fibre channel-based system excels. The JuStor system that incorporates Seagate's industry-leading Cheetah disc drives is a compelling choice."

The JuStor 2 GB storage attached solution is currently shipping. For more information about the JuStor system, visit JMR Electronics at www.jmr.com.
