Ronald W. Kenwisher Joins Seagate as Vice President, Quality

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - Extending its drive to build and maintain the strongest leadership team in the data storage industry, Seagate Technology, Inc. (NYSE:SEG), the world's largest manufacturer of disc drives and related components, today announced that Ronald W. Kenwisher has joined the company's management organization as vice president, Quality, Desktop Storage Products. Based at the company's desktop design center in Longmont, Colorado, Kenwisher will report directly to Ralph McLaughlin, senior vice president, Quality.

Kenwisher brings to Seagate over 30 years of industry achievements including extensive experience in high-volume production of computer peripheral equipment, off shore manufacturing, new product qualification, and the development and implementation of long-range quality processes. Previously, Kenwisher has held several vice president positions at various companies and was recently responsible for Quality Assurance at Western Digital's Enterprise Storage Group in Rochester, Minnesota.

Prior to joining Western Digital in 1995, Kenwisher held vice president positions with Rexon Corporation and Insite Peripherals. From 1986 to 1991, he worked for Archive Technology, a tape drive manufacturer, where his roles included vice president, Operations, vice president, OEM Sales and vice president, Quality Assurance. Before that, Kenwisher held various management positions with Magnetic Peripherals, Inc. (a subsidiary of Control Data Corporation), Honeywell Information Systems and General Electric.

Kenwisher earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Central State University, Oklahoma, and an associate's degree in Electrical Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology.
