Priced at AUD$349, the Seagate Pocket Hard Drive breaks traditional cost-performance barriers and delivers far greater capacity than USB thumb drives. The Pocket Hard Drive is a cool-looking, sleek round shell with a robust design and high shock tolerance enabling mobility and making it as convenient as a traditional USB thumb drive, but with an incredible 5GB of storage in a USB 2.0 bus powered design, it is ideal for transporting or temporarily backing up a huge amount of data.
With its 5-Gbyte capacity, the Pocket Hard Drive can store 2,500 high-quality songs, approximately 5,000 1-Mbyte photos or even 4.5 hours of digital video - far more than USB thumb drive at similar price points - making it a very cost-effective storage alternative.
"Consumers' enthusiasm for the digital lifestyle with content like music, photos, video and movies is driving their need for digital storage," said Mr. Robert Yang, Seagate's director of Sales & Marketing and general manager for Australia. "Delivering high performance, lower power consumption and reliability in a compact physical package, Seagate's latest Pocket Hard Drive is well positioned to meet consumers' need for a convenient and robust storage solution."
"The fact that Harvey Norman retail outlets are carrying Seagate pocket drives clearly demonstrates our confidence in Seagate's storage technology leadership," said Jeff Woodhouse, Harvey Norman's Product & Marketing manager for computer hardware. "We believe that our relationship with Seagate supports our commitment to deliver quality and reliable products to the Australian community."
"Harris Technology is pleased to partner with Seagate to deliver leading edge products to Australian computer users," said David Foster, managing director of Harris Technology. "Australian consumers value quality and reliability and Seagate's commitment to delivering these features across their product range is the reason we distribute their hard drives."
