Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world's leading supplier of hard disc drives, garnered two significant accolades in the PCQuest User's Choice Awards Survey 2004. The results of the nationwide PCQuest poll were published in the magazine's September issue.
In the HDD category where performance & quality are the top two selection criteria, Seagate drives scored exceptionally well and were declared the overwhelming winners in both categories - for Personal and Enterprise products. Seagate performed exceptionally well in the Enterprise hard disc segment, and its 92% brand loyalty left the competition far behind. In the Personal hard disc segment Seagate also enjoyed the highest brand loyalty of any vendor at 73%.
The PCQuest User's Choice award reflects technology user's perception of different IT brands and vendors. This year's PCQuest User's Choice awards survey covered two different groups of respondents, the IT purchase decision makers of large enterprises for the enterprise products and IT savvy users with a PC or a notebook at home for the personal products based on the following criteria: performance, quality, support, ease of use, popularity, and price. The survey this year was conducted by IDC India and was analyzed by PCQuest.
"We are pleased to be recognized with these significant awards that represent the voice of Indian consumers when it comes to choosing their preferred hard drives," said Sharad Srivastava, Seagate India country manager. "Our success in the PCQuest User's Choice Awards clearly signals technology user's continued confidence in Seagate's best-in-class products and confirms our successful commitment and ongoing effort to delivering leading-edge storage technology to advance the IT industry."
"Seagate is the runaway winner in the Enterprise segment," said Krishna Kumar, Editor, PCQuest. "At 92% Seagate enjoys the highest brand loyalty in the product segment. All indications are that Seagate will continue to dominate the market."
