"After an unprecedented development effort, Seagate this year launched the industry's broadest variety of new hard drives in history, including the first-of-its-kind Seagate Pocket Hard Drive, and targeting applications ranging from handheld music players to DVRs and other consumer electronics, notebook computers, PCs and servers," said Brian Dexheimer, Seagate executive vice president of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. "This CES Innovations Award reflects the important success we've seen this year in Seagate's newest target markets, and our growing global leadership as the number one provider of consumer-friendly hard drive storage. Seagate's unique capabilities, our broad technology portfolio and investments in leading-edge product design uniquely enable us to serve an industry of growing complexity, driven by new and varied customer trends."

The new Seagate USB 2.0 Pocket Hard Drive is the biggest small hard drive on the planet - it's the world's first external hard drive small enough for consumers to fit in their pockets or throw in a backpack. Safely encased in its sleek palm-sized shell, it's as convenient as a USB thumb drive - but it offers an incredible 5GB of storage to conveniently carry a huge amount of digital music, photos, video, and business files.

The Seagate Pocket Hard Drive has a distinct round design just over two inches in diameter. Its shape is designed to move in and out of a pocket easily and enables a unique retractable USB cable, and its rubberized feet keep it steady on the desktop. With a shock resistant design, it delivers high performance, low power consumption and reliability. The Seagate Pocket Hard Drive even includes software for data security and easy content management, letting users safeguard files - or the entire drive - with password protection.

The Seagate USB 2.0 Pocket Hard Drive features a worry-free one-year warranty that covers all parts and labor, plus free technical support, even after the warranty ends.

Seagate's inventive new USB 2.0 Pocket Hard Drives, and its entire range of external hard drives, are built on the world's most advanced hard drive technology platforms from Seagate, and are designed to make data and digital content storage, backup and transfer more portable, more reliable and easier than ever to meet a variety of consumers' computing needs. Seagate is at the forefront of rapidly evolving consumer storage trends - with these new drives, consumers now have better control of their data, video, music, digital photography, games and multimedia.
