Seagate Cheetah X15-36LP Disc Drive Proven World's Fastest by StorageReview.com

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - The Seagate Cheetah X15-36LP disc drive has broken all previously held performance records, according to the latest benchmark testing performed by StorageReview.com. A disc drive designed for the highest levels of transaction-processing performance with a focus on critical time-to-data applications, the Cheetah X15-36LP excelled beyond all competitive drives in every benchmark and test that was conducted. Its performance leadership easily earned the drive the coveted StorageReview.com Leaderboard position.

StorageReview.com editor and reviewer Eugene Ra discovered that the 15K-rpm Cheetah X15-36LP disc drive bested all competing products in critical IOMeter file server pattern and database index tests by a minimum of 15 percent. In second place was Seagate's first-generation Cheetah X15, a drive that even beat out IBM's brand-new 15K offering in those particular IOMeter tests. Similar results were reported in various low-level and Winbench benchmark tests.

Eugene Ra also discovered an additional benefit of the Cheetah X15-36LP beyond the blistering performance. "Remarkably, decreased noise levels accompany the X15-36LP's new level of performance," said Ra. "Idle noises are quite unobtrusive when masked by our relatively quiet power supply and drive cooler."

Ra also commented on the drive's overall performance advantages. "Completely annihilating every other hard drive ever made in all performance measurements, the Seagate Cheetah X15-36LP easily earns our coveted Leaderboard slot."

Ra summed it up best at the end: "In conclusion, the X15-36LP delivers mightily on all fronts: the lowest access times, the highest transfer rates, the highest WinBench 99 scores, and the highest IOMeter scores that we've yet recorded

"Make no mistake about it, the Cheetah X15-36LP is the fastest hard drive one can buy for any and all applications. Period."
