Seagate Enhances Customer Service and Support in China

Seagate Technology, the world's leading supplier of hard disc drives, today announced the establishment of four warranty collection points to service its authorized distributors and resellers in China. The four collection points, located in Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Chengdu, will strengthen the Seagate Shanghai Distribution Center's capability to provide best-in-class customer support in this important market.

Beginning November 7, the Beijing and Shenzhen Collection Points will process returned drives that are still under warranty, speeding up and simplifying the return and replacement process. The Guangzhou and Chengdu Collection Points will commence operations in January 2006.

"Our distributors and authorized resellers can now process warranty drives more quickly and cost-effectively, so both they and their customers can benefit from this comprehensive service and support. Combined with our five-year warranty on disc drive products, the establishment of the collection points further demonstrates that Seagate continues to add value in ways that are important to our strategic partners and customers. "

Seagate's industry-leading five-year warranty program, the launch of the collection points and the creation of a toll-free telephone customer support all underscore Seagate's aim to be the storage partner of choice for technology consumers in China.

The toll-free telephone customer support line is available for end-users in China. Available in Mandarin, Cantonese and English, the Seagate Customer Service Center can be accessed through toll-free numbers: 800-810-9668 (for mainland China users) and (86) 10-6225-5336 (for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan users, as well as China mobile phone users) or via email at: seagate.support@teleservices.com.cn. The service is available during business hours from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding Chinese public holidays.

The customer support line provides technical help as well as guidance on matters pertaining to hard drives, including product features and benefits, specific configurations, serial connectivity, etc. In addition, diagnostic services for trouble-shooting and software / hardware compatibility will also be available.

Seagate channel partners and distributors across the country can utilize the new support line for assistance in addressing their storage customers' questions with regard to Seagate disc drive products. Seagate customers in China can also access local language information on the Company's products by logging on to http://www.seagate.com.cn.
