Seagate Enhances Customer Service and Support in Malaysia

Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world's leading hard disc drive supplier, has added a SeaCare Center for warranty replacement drives in Kuala Lumpur. The move strengthens Seagate's service and support to complement its best-in class products and enhance the quality of the Seagate customer experience.

This initiative is managed through UPS, a Seagate Service Partner based in Kuala Lumpur. The SeaCare Center serves resellers and end-customers nationwide, and complements services already offered by Seagate authorized distributors in Malaysia. The center provides five-year warranty support for every Seagate internal PC, notebook and enterprise hard drive shipped through its distribution and retail channels throughout Malaysia, making Seagate's service support and offerings the most comprehensive available today.

The SeaCare Center will service all drives sold through Seagate Authorized distributors and its channel networks. Relative to warranty replacement drives, when channel /end customer deliver applicable drives to the SeaCare Center, Seagate will be able to send back replacement drives straight to the customer's doorstep. Support services will be available during business hours: 08:30 am to 06:00 pm (Malaysia Time) Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.

The SeaCare Center toll free telephone customer support line is available for end user customers in Malaysia. The toll free number is: 1-800-80-2335.

The customer support line provides technical help as well as instant guidance on matters pertaining to hard drives including product features and benefits, specific configurations, serial connectivity, etc. In addition, diagnostic services for trouble-shooting and software / hardware compatibility will also be available.

Seagate channel partners and distributors across the country can utilize the new support line to gain assistance in addressing their storage customers' needs relative to Seagate disc drive products. Furthermore, as a part of Seagate's on-going efforts to provide valuable information to its global customers, the company has introduced enhanced functionality for its Asia Pacific website. The enhancements include new content on hard disc drive products and applications, and new self-service support features.

There are three new sections: New Products & Technologies, Retail Products and Support & Downloads. In addition to the comprehensive information on Seagate's wide range of products, the site's Support & Downloads section will enable customers and visitors to download Seagate diagnostic tools to meet their specific needs, and to get information on Seagate's industry-leading five-year warranty.
