Seagate Expands Service Network in India

NEW DELHI, India - Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world's leading hard disc drive maker, today announced an expansion of its service network by increasing the number of its SeaCare Centers from 32 to 43 across the country. These include 11 new centers in class 'B' and 'C' cities, offering service coverage to almost all corners of the country. In addition, Seagate has launched two mobile service vans, which will provide customer support services at the main tech-markets in New Delhi and Mumbai.

This news comes in the wake of Seagate wining the top-slot in 360 Magazine's "Emerging Market Census 2004' (which was conducted across 100 cities) which shows that Seagate is the preferred brand not only among users in metros and enterprises, but also in the smaller townships, which are experiencing significant growth in IT purchases. Seagate also came in first in the 'CRN Most Admired Company 2004' poll done by Computer Reseller News.

"We are pleased with the success of our SeaCare centers and their establishments as we continue to add value to our support services to better serve Indian users of our hard drives," said Sharad Srivastava, country manager for Seagate in India. "With a view to enhance the total quality of the Seagate experience, we are targeting to augment our post-sales support by enhancing our current service program."

The SeaCare centers provide more responsive after-sales services, ease of access to warranty support and disc drive replacement to end-users in India. The centers are manned by Seagate trained staff and offer support consistently across the country to provide an overall enhanced customer experience. With an enhanced service network, service support for Seagate products is more accessible to its users from the smaller cities.

The new SeaCare centers are located in the following towns: Jammu, Dehradun, Ludhiana, Shimla, Karnal, Agra, Jodhpur, Surat, Patna, Goa and Bhopal.
