SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX), the world's leading hard drive maker, has appointed Maxim Frolov as channel sales representative in Russia. He is responsible for business development with Seagate distributors and resellers in Russia and CIS. Seagate's other regional representative, Sergei Polikarpov (appointed in July 2002) is responsible for the Company's relations with local OEMs and system integrators. Russia is now the third biggest European market (after Germany and UK) for Seagate and is also the fastest growing market.

Mr. Frolov said, "Seagate disc drives enjoy a strong reputation in areas such as enterprise servers and RAID systems, desktop office and home PCs, as well as in consumer electronics. Our successful reentry into the notebook hard drive market with our Momentus product and our plans for small form factor enterprise drives demonstrate that Seagate continues to be at the leading edge of the industry."
