Seagate Honored With Awards Of Excellence At 2004 CES

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - Seagate (NYSE: STX) was recently honored with two awards by Storage Visions at the CES show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Cheetah 15K.3 disc drive was given the Best Enterprise Class Media Award in recognition for its high-performance and reliability that cater to the needs of IT professionals. In addition, Seagate received a Founder Award for its long history of market-leading technologies and volume leadership in data storage, and in recognition of its early support of the Storage Visions conferences.

"Seagate's enterprise-class Cheetah 15K.3 disc drive is widely recognized in the industry as having leading performance along with high reliability, making it ideal for I/O data-intensive and 24 x 7 environments, as well as content creation and editing environments," said Tom Coughlin of Coughlin Associates at the 2004 Storage Visions Conference. "We congratulate Seagate for its contributions as a company in the storage industry and for its commitment to excellence in products such as the Cheetah 15K.3."

"It is an honor for us to be recognized both as a company and for our products," said Brian Dexheimer, Seagate executive vice president, Global Sales and Marketing. "The Storage Visions awards are an affirmation that Seagate's customer-centric approach to the business is working and are also a testament to the strong team here at Seagate that stands behind each product and service."

Now in its third-generation, Seagate's flagship Cheetah 15K.3 disc drive delivers all the performance, reliability, and capacity required for growing enterprise environments. The Cheetah 15K.3 drive enables IT professionals to reduce their system Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by delivering performance greater than 10K-based systems, while using 35 percent fewer 15K-rpm drives. As a result, the Cheetah 15K.3 drive helps save data center space, reduces system power consumption, and requires less hardware manageability and cabling. With spindle speeds of 15K-rpm, capacities ranging from 18-to-73 Gigabytes, and available with leading Ultra320 SCSI and Fibre Channel interfaces, the Cheetah 15K.3 disc drive is designed to fulfill a wide variety of enterprise needs.
