Seagate Makes Changes to EMEA Sales and Marketing Organisation

MUNICH, Germany - Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world's leading hard drive manufacturer, has appointed Hans-Dieter Blaser as executive director, EMEA Sales and Marketing. He previously headed-up the company's distribution channel sales in the region. Blaser, 49, holds a degree in engineering and is based in Seagate's Munich office. He joined the company in 1987 as regional sales director for Central Europe. In his new position, he will report to Randy Lee, Seagate's senior vice president, Global Sales and Marketing.

Don Kennedy, who has been vice president, EMEA Sales and Marketing, since 2001, is moving from Seagate's Paris office to take up the newly created position of vice president, Americas Sales and Global Retail Sales.

Seagate has also made some changes within its EMEA channel sales organisation to optimise the management and development of the various channel markets.

Robert Suu, who has been responsible for the channel in Central Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro) until now, will add Southern Europe (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Benelux) as well as parts of Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia).

Alastair Stewart will manage channel activities in Northern Europe (Scandinavia and the UK), Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union, Hungary, Turkey, Greece and the Middle East.

On the appointment of Hans-Dieter Blaser as executive director, EMEA Sales and Marketing, Randy Lee, senior vice president, Global Sales and Marketing, commented that "With his many years of experience in sales management and his outstanding skills in developing and managing sales and marketing strategies, Hans-Dieter is ideally suited for his new role and the new responsibilities it entails.
