"Seagate's involvement in NDP 2000 reflects our commitment to social responsibility and involvement in the communities where we live and work," said Mike Stears, Seagate senior vice president, Asia Pacific Drive Operations. "Seagate's civic services program strengthens our value system as a Company, while enriching the greater community. I am glad that our employees have responded so enthusiastically to this event. The added distinction of being the only company to participate in the Parade is indeed an honour that we are proud of."
The contingent will be led by Dennis Yip, director, Seagate Customer Service Operations. "Seagate has been an integral part of my life and the lives of many Singaporeans," said Yip. "There is no better way to show my gratitude to the Company than by leading the Seagate contingent during the nation's birthday. There is a great sense of loyalty and pride from our participants in the parade."
This is the second consecutive year Seagate is in the Parade, but this year the contingent is twice as large. Additionally, there will be a virtual reality show of skyscrapers, milestone events, and community programs on a giant screen at the Parade. The animation, video editing and choreographing of multimedia images are being produced with the help of Seagate's Cheetah 36LP drives.
