Seagate Named Top Storage Provider in a Series of Award Wins

Reaffirming its award-winning reputation, Seagate Technology (NYSE:SEG), a leading provider of Internet Infrastructure storage products, today announced that it has received a series of recent accolades including ITSingapore's "SME Vendors Award 2000," PC Quest India's "Users' Choice Award 2000" and PC World Vietnam's "Best IT Product Award 2000."

According to ITSingapore, Seagate is a natural favorite when it comes to selecting storage products for the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) segment. In May 2000 ITSingapore conducted a survey to launch its inaugural SME Vendors' Award. The results indicated that key SME decision-makers chose Seagate as their top storage vendor based on the following criteria: Product/ Service quality and reliability, Technical and customer support, Price Competitiveness and Brand Awareness.

In India, Seagate has been recognized as the leading provider of storage solutions, and a recent International Data Corporation (IDC) report identified Seagate as the market share leader with over 70 percent of the Indian disc drive market. For the second consecutive year Seagate is #1 in PC Quest India's Users Choice survey for providing innovative and best-in-class storage products and services. Additionally, Seagate's Barracuda ATA II disc drive was recently named Editor's Choice in CHIP India magazine.

In June, PC World Vietnam conducted a readers' poll to select the 30 Best IT Products of the year. Seagate emerged first in the Hard Disc category with approximately 66 percent of votes, which was double the number of votes the first runner up received. Named "Best IT Product Award 2000" for disc drives, Seagate was acknowledged for the product strengths that Vietnamese users have come to rely on to meet their data storage needs.

"This type of recognition from our customers and industry experts reaffirms our commitment to provide the world's best storage products," said Joel Stead, Seagate senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. "It is a very exciting time for Seagate as we expand into new markets and the opportunities for storage appear to be virtually unbounded. Going forward, Seagate will continue to deliver best-in-class products in its core storage business, while expanding into emerging markets like SAN, Server Appliances and consumer solutions."

Seagate disc drives are protected by its exclusive 3D Defense System, the most comprehensive set of protective features in the industry.
