The market in Taiwan is undergoing rapid change, most notably the growth of the major ODMs with manufacturing capabilities worldwide. These companies are an important part of Seagate's success as they are major players in the notebook market and are poised to enter the consumer electronics market, as well. These Taiwanese companies are positioning themselves to drive the convergence of the traditional IT and the consumer electronics businesses.

Prior to joining Seagate, Chiang was regional manager of Taiwan Branch at Hitachi Global Storage Technology. He also held various management, sales and engineering positions at Hitachi, Conner Peripherals and Mitac in Taiwan. Chiang majored in Applied Mathematics at the Chinese Culture University and Electrical Engineering at the Lee Min Institute of Technology.
