Seagate Promotes Kevin Eassa to Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Equipment Engineering for Recording Media Operations

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - Further expanding the depth of talent on Seagate Technology's (NYSE:SEG) senior management team, the Company today announced the appointment of Kevin Eassa to the position of senior vice president, Worldwide Manufacturing and Equipment Engineering for the Recording Media Operations (RMO). He will report to Jerry Glembocki, senior vice president, RMO.

"Kevin's intimate knowledge of the day to day operations of making discs combined with his sharp business sense make him a perfect choice for this senior management role," said Bill Watkins, Seagate executive vice president and COO. "As Seagate moves closer to its vision of building the factory of the future, Kevin will be a critical leader in defining the direction and implementing the necessary actions that will make Seagate the most flexible, agile and efficient manufacturer in the industry."

Eassa joined Seagate as vice president of operations for RMO through the merger with Conner Peripherals in 1996. Prior to that, he spent five years with Conner Peripherals in various management positions including vice president of operations for the Conner Disk Division and director of Equipment Engineering. Eassa's career also includes six years with Domain Technology and three years with IBM.

Eassa holds a bachelor of technology and mechanical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
