Seagate Promotes New Leadership In Its Sales, Marketing And Customer Service Organization

Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), a leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of hard disc drives, has appointed Sherman Black to vice president, Global Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) Sales, and has promoted Dan Nicewander to vice president, Business Development, within the Company's product and technology development center in Shakopee, Minn.

Black will be responsible for managing the global sales team and their customer accounts as well as managing Seagate's global pricing team. Nicewander will be responsible for customer focus and business planning across all of Seagate's four design centers, as well as customer contracts and Seagate's customer call center.

"Sherman and Dan's experience in the disc drive industry, extensive background within Seagate across many areas of responsibility and their close ties with many key OEM customers make them a perfect fit for these roles," said Brian Dexheimer, Seagate executive vice president, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. "Their new roles will provide a strong point of leadership as the Company strives to achieve even greater levels of 'customer success'."

Most recently, Black served as vice president, Business Development, leading the Enterprise and Personal storage teams responsible for product management, qualification, pricing and customer support. His more than 14 years at Seagate include a wide range of experience in business development, marketing, quality assurance and engineering. Black holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arkansas and a master's degree in business from the University of Oklahoma.

For the past three years, Nicewander served as executive director in Enterprise Storage Business Development. His more than six years at Seagate include a wide range of experience in business development, applications engineering and customer-focused initiatives. Nicewander holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as well as having completed the Wharton School's executive development program at the University of Pennsylvania.
