Seagate Promotes Patrick O'Malley to Vice President, Finance, Recording Media Group

Seagate Technology, Inc. (NYSE:SEG) today announced the promotion of Patrick J. O'Malley III to the position of vice president, Finance for the company's Recording Media Group (RMG), one of the world's largest suppliers of advanced magnetic disc media and substrates. Based at RMG's Milpitas facility, O'Malley will oversee all finance operations for RMG and will report directly to Don Waite, Seagate's executive vice president, chief administrative officer and chief financial officer.

"Seagate's Recording Media Group is currently the world's largest producer of magnetic recording media, today producing more than 22 million high-quality discs per quarter," said Waite. "The Finance infrastructure for this business must be solid and well-managed to support the growth and size of RMG. Pat has proven skills and talent in organizational and financial management and I believe his expertise will assist in strategically positioning the business for the future."

O'Malley joined Seagate Technology in 1988 as a senior financial analyst at the company's headquarters in Scotts Valley, California. Since then, he has held various positions including manager of Consolidations and Cost Accounting and director of Finance, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, in Scotts Valley; senior director of Finance, Oklahoma City Operations; and most recently, senior director of Finance, Desktop Design, in Longmont, Colorado. Prior to joining Seagate, O'Malley was with Arthur Young & Co. in San Jose, California.

O'Malley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana.
