Seagate Voted Storage Vendor of Choice in ITSingapore Survey

SINGAPORE - Seagate Technology (NYSE:SEG), a leading provider of Internet Infrastructure storage products, today announced that it has been named the storage vendor of choice by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in ITSingapore magazine's inaugural SME Vendors' Award 2000.

The ITSingapore SME Vendors' Award was created to recognize the significant contributions information technology (IT) companies make towards the growth of SMEs in Singapore. In May 2000, ITSingapore conducted a survey among key decision-makers of SMEs to nominate their vendors of choice in five categories: Systems, Software, Peripherals, Services/Support and Networking. Survey participants selected the top IT vendors based on the following criteria: Product/Service quality and reliability, Technical and customer support, Price Competitiveness and Brand Awareness.

"Seagate is pleased to be recognized as the world's top storage vendor among SMEs in Singapore," said Joel Stead, Seagate senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. "This award validates our ongoing effort to align ourselves with our customers to provide them with best-in-class storage products and services to meet their needs. We will maintain that focus and develop new products and technologies to help SMEs leverage information for a competitive advantage."

Seagate is the world's largest supplier of disc drives, and its products have received numerous accolades from leading IT publications worldwide. Seagate received the prestigious Platinum Award for two consecutive years in the annual PCWeek Readers' Choice survey. In April, the Company was voted by Channel Asia magazine as the Channels' Vendor of Choice for the fourth year in a row. Most recently, Seagate won PC Quest India's Users' Choice award for the second consecutive year.
