Sony Digital Products Honors Seagate with Supplier Performance Award

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - Sony Digital Products (SDP) has presented Seagate Technology, Inc. (NYSE: SEG) and Nippon Seagate Inc. with its prestigious Supplier Performance Award for the second year in a row. The award acknowledges Seagate's outstanding contributions to quality, customer satisfaction, delivery performance, and cost savings.

Sony Digital Products, which manufactures consumer audio/visual products, workstations, personal digital assistants, personal and notebook computers, gives special recognition to more than 20 of its suppliers at its annual Supplier Performance Award ceremony in Japan. Once again Nippon Seagate Inc. was the only hard disc drive company to receive Sony's coveted award. Charles Ritchie, managing director of Sales for Nippon Seagate Inc. attributed Seagate's world-class technological leadership and support as key reasons for maintaining its position as the sole award recipient in the hard disc drive category.

"We are honored and proud that Seagate has been recognized by a world-class company such as Sony for quality products and service," said Ritchie. "We are dedicated to providing the best products and customer service in our industry. This recognition of our efforts by SDP is additional proof that our hard work and dedication continues to be rewarded."

Seagate supplies disc drives from its award-winning Elite, Barracuda and Hawk families. Recently, Computer Reseller News awarded its Best Disc Drive Vision Award to the Hawk 2LP. BUG Magazine and Computer Reseller News distinguished Seagate's Hawk 2LP and Barracuda 2, respectively, with their Editor's Choice Awards. This spring New Media Magazine bestowed its June 1995 Awesome Award to Seagate's 9-Gbyte 5.25-inch drive, the Elite 9.

Seagate Technology, Inc. is a data technology company that provides products for storing, managing and accessing digital information on the world's computer and data communications systems.
