The 16th Crystal Brain Camp, Kasetsart-Seagate Provides Thai Children With Experience In Robotics

BANGKOK, Thailand - The 16th Crystal Brain Camp Kasetsart-Seagate, one of Thailand's most exciting science and technology camps, will again focus on providing young people with an opportunity to learn fundamental robotics technology and various applications.

"The Crystal Brain Camp is an example of how Kasetsart University and Seagate cooperate to create new learning opportunities. The camp will also be beneficial for the country's education system development. This is our 16th camp, and the high level of interest from applicants nationwide clearly shows that this particular type of education program really benefits Thailand," said Asst. Prof. Dr. Wirote Impitak, director of Kasetsart University.

Kwanjit Sudsawad, manager of Corporate Communications, Seagate Technology (Thailand) Limited said, " The 16th Crystal Brain Camp aims to inspire young people to spend their free time during summer maximizing their potential in a creative and thoughtful way, learning to work and cooperating with others as part of a team.

"Seagate has offered full support to this camp for five consecutive years, as we are well aware of the importance of hands-on experience in science and technology, especially for young people," said Kwanjit.

The Crystal Brain Camp was originally developed by a group of Kasetsart University lecturers led by Asst. Prof. Yeon Phuworawan, based on the extensive research in the area of youth education.

Activities in the 16th Crystal Brain Camp include teaching children to think like scientists, learning robot theory, building robots, and other exercise and "edu-tainment" activities.

The 16th Crystal Brain Camp Kasetsart-Seagate welcomes 200 children aged between 10-13 years. This seven-day and six-night camp will be held during April 21-27 at the National Agricultural Support and Training Center, Kampaengsan, Nakorn Pathom province.
