“This recognition represents our employees’ commitment to continuous improvement in occupational safety and health,” said Jeff Nygaard, VP and country manager, Seagate Technology (Thailand) Ltd. “Seagate’s environmental performance meets not only the local requirements but also international standards. We at Seagate are very proud to be working for one of the country’s leading manufacturing operations - one that places a strong emphasis on employee safety and environmental preservation.”
As part of the government’s assessment for this award, Seagate’s safety performance for the past five years was evaluated by officials from the Department of Labor Protection and Social Welfare and Department of Safety Inspection. The facility assessments covered a broad scope of safety program elements, including: safety policy, safety management, workplace safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene and the overall working environment. Officials from the Samutprakarn Labor Protection and Social Department verified the first round of the assessment at the provincial level. All elements must score above 90 percent to qualify for the second round of assessments for the National Award.
