Executive Vice President of Global Operations
K.F. Chong serves as executive vice president of global operations, responsible for overseeing Seagate's comprehensive smart manufacturing operations worldwide and managing a workforce of over 20,000 engineering professionals and specialists.
K.F. and his team are at the forefront of deploying artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency, precision and scalability at facilities in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the U.K. and the U.S. Seagate’s sophisticated network of factories works in concert to complete all the steps — from wafer and slider fabrication to head gimbal assembly and media integration — necessary to produce millions of Seagate’s industry-leading hard drives that are integral to supporting the massive data storage needs of AI.
His tenure at Seagate spans 36 years. Since joining the company in 1989 as a process engineer, he has held numerous leadership roles in engineering and operations. A pivotal assignment was his move in 2002 to Wuxi, China, where he significantly expanded Seagate’s manufacturing presence.
K.F. holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore.
