4-Bay NAS OS Installer
Windows Installer file for the NAS OS application for use with the 4-Bay Rackmount Network-Attached Storage device
Extract the file to a location you will remember.
Connect a USB flash/thumb drive that is 8GB or larger and wait for Windows to detect it.
This drive will be erased, so ensure that the data stored on it is backed up on another storage media. Seagate recommends using the USB key that was shipped with your device.
Open the Seagate NAS OS Installer folder that you just extracted.
Double-click on the Seagate-NAS-OS-Installer.exe file to run it.
Select your language, then OK.
The NAS OS Installer will check for updates. If an update is found, follow the on-screen instructions. Otherwise, continue to the next step.
At the License Agreement window, select Next.
The Choose device tab displays the USB Drive. Select Next.
At the prompt "Creating the rescue key will erase all data currently stored on the disk. Do you wish to continue?“, select Yes. The USB key or flash drive is erased and prepared with the NAS OS installer. Preparing the device will take some time. DO NOT disconnect the USB device during the process as it could cause permanent damage.
The Summary tab will report, "Your rescue key has been successfully configured and is now ready for use.“ Select Finish.
Make certain to eject USB key or flash drive from your computer before removing it.
