Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN driver profile: Valtteri Bottas

Valtteri Bottas, born in Nastola, Finland, on August 28, 1989, is a ten-time Grand Prix winner with a proven track record of performance. In 2008, while in the junior formulas, he became only the second driver to win both the Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula Renault Northern European Cup in the same year. In 2009 and 2010, he won back-to-back Masters of Formula 3 races; the first to do so. His joined Formula One in 2013 with the Williams team. In 2014 and 2015, Bottas made several podiums and by end of 2016, was called up to Mercedes, replacing Nico Rosberg (world champion at the time). From 2017-2021 he helped Mercedes secure five constructors’ titles.   

Bottas won his first race in Sochi in 2017 and since then has accumulated nine wins total, 17 pole positions and 63 podiums.
