Business Storage Windows Server NAS OS Installer

Installs the Windows Server NAS OS for use with the Business Storage Windows Server NAS device.



    Step 1

    Download and extract the following zip file.

  • Step 2

    Once extracted you will need to execute the Wintel-Seagate-NAS-OS-Installer.part01.exe to extract the files you will need.

  • Step 3

    When the extraction completes open the extracted folder. Select the Wintel Seagate-NAS-OS-Installer-1.1.0 folder and locate the file named Seagate-NAS-OS-Installer.exe .

  • Step 4

    Connect a USB flash/thumb drive that is 8GB or larger and wait for Windows to detect it. This drive will be erased, so ensure that the data stored on it is backed up on another storage media. Seagate recommends using the USB key that was shipped with your device.

  • Step 5

    Double-click on the Seagate-NAS-OS-Installer.exe file to run it.

  • Step 6

    Select your language, then OK.

  • Step 7

    The NAS OS Installer will check for updates. If an update is found, follow the on-screen instructions. Otherwise, continue to the next step.

  • Step 8

    At the License Agreement window, select Next.

  • Step 9

    The Choose device tab displays the USB Drive. Select Next.

  • Step 10

    At the prompt "Creating the rescue key will erase all data currently stored on the disk. Do you wish to continue?“, select Yes. The USB key or flash drive is erased and prepared with the NAS OS installer. Preparing the device will take some time. DO NOT disconnect the USB device during the process as it could cause permanent damage.

  • Step 11

    The Summary tab will report, "Your rescue key has been successfully configured and is now ready for use.“ Select Finish.

    Make certain to eject USB key or flash drive from your computer before removing it.
