Version sg2000-2000.1331 Firmware Notes (PDF)

This is a new firmware update that completely overhauls the BlackArmor NAS remote access experience by introducing new tools to enable users to access and manage content on the BlackArmor NAS from a remote website, smartphone, or tablet.

  • Step 1

Download the .img file to your system and take note of the location where it was saved.

  • Step 2

Open your browser and launch the Seagate BlackArmor Web User Interface (UI). Provide administrative username/password authentication when prompted. The system Status page opens.

Supported Web Browsers (for Web Management Interface):
Windows: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer, Firefox 2.xx or newer
    MacOS: Safari 3.1 or newer

NOTE: Though this is a simple procedure, it is recommended that you backup any/all critical data before continuing.

  • Step 3

Click on the Firmware Update link provided in the left column of the Web UI. The Auto Update page opens.

  • Step 4

Click on the Manual Update link provided in the left column of the Web UI. The Manual Update page opens.

  • Step 5

Select Browse to locate/select the .img file. Once the file/file path is populated in the field provided, click the Submit button. The update starts automatically. This may take a few minutes to complete.

Note: During the update process, do not refresh or shutdown your browser.

    Step 6

When finished, the BlackArmor NAS 220 restarts. You will be returned to the Login page where you can authenticate again to access the Web UI.
