Executive Staff 

   

William Watkins

William D. Watkins - Chief Executive Officer

Bill Watkins was appointed chief executive officer in 2004. Between June 2000 and July 2004, Watkins served as president and chief operating officer and was responsibile for the company’s global hard disc drive operations. He was elected to Seagate’s board of directors in 2000.

Watkins joined Seagate in 1996 as part of the company’s merger with Conner Peripherals. While at Conner, he established the Conner Disk Division and managed its success through the merger with Seagate. Watkins graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Texas. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. He also serves on the executive advisory Council for IDEMA (the International Disk Drive Equipment and Materials Association) and the Executive Advisory Board of the Juran Center for Leadership in Quality.

   

Dave Wickersham

Dave Wickersham - President and Chief Operating Officer

David Wickersham was promoted to the position of president in September 2006, retaining the title of chief operating officer, a position to which he was promoted in April 2004. Wickersham holds responsibility for Seagate's product development organization and global disk drive manufacturing operations as well as the materials, recording media, recording heads and supply chain organizations.

Prior to holding the roles of president and COO, Wickersham was Seagate's executive vice president of Global Disk Storage Operations, a position to which he was appointed in June 2000. He has over three decades of experience in the storage industry and came to Seagate from Maxtor in 1998. Wickersham has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University.

   

Charles Pope

Charles C. Pope - Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Charles Pope oversees all financial functions of Seagate as well as the Company's IT infrastructure. His career includes broad-based experience in the executive management of global manufacturing operations, responsibility for treasury, budgeting and financial reporting, and the design and implementation of strategic initiatives to refocus and improve worldwide operations. Pope joined Seagate as Director of Budgets and Analysis with the purchase of Grenex in 1985.

   

Brian Dexheimer

Brian Dexheimer - President, Consumer Solutions Division

Brian Dexheimer has responsibility for Seagate's new market-focused organizations:  Enterprise Compute, Personal Compute, Consumer Electronics, and Branded Solutions. He also has responsibility for the Incubator/New Market Concepts organization, which will work closely with the market-focused organizations in bringing new ideas to market. Dexheimer continues to lead the sales and marketing, channel distribution, and customer service organizations as well. Dexheimer came to Seagate with the company's acquisition of Imprimis in 1989. Since joining Control Data in 1984, Dexheimer's career includes more than 23 years of experience in the data storage industry.

   

Todd Abbott

Todd Abbott—Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service

Todd Abbott is responsible for Seagate’s global sales, marketing and customer service organizations, in which he leads the company’s sales efforts for its hard drive businesses of Personal Compute, Enterprise Compute and Consumer Electronics. His marketing responsibilities span corporate, channel and segment marketing, and his customer service responsibilities include pre-sales and technical support, customer logistics and warranties.

Abbott joined Seagate in January of 2007. He was most recently senior vice president of Worldwide Sales for Symbol Technologies, a leader in enterprise mobility solutions. Prior to that, he served in senior management positions at Cisco Systems and IBM.

   

Bob Whitmore

Bob Whitmore - Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer

Bob Whitmore serves as Executive Vice President, Product & Process Development for Seagate. He is responsible for managing worldwide disk drive development at design centers in Minnesota, Colorado and Singapore. His product development responsibilities cover multiple market segments including enterprise, desktop, notebook, handheld and consumer storage. The company's motor and ASIC development groups and advanced manufacturing engineering, are also part of his responsibility.

   

Mike Wingert

Mike Wingert - Executive Vice President and General Manager for Seagate's Personal Compute Products

Mike Wingert joined Seagate in May 2006 as executive vice president of Maxtor integration. In January 2007 he was appointed to the position of EVP and general manager for Seagate's personal compute products. In this role, he is responsible for all desktop and notebook products, which are designed in the Longmont, Colo. design center.

Prior to joining Seagate, Wingert held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Maxtor from November 2004 to May 2006. Before being promoted to President and COO, he served in several executive-level positions at Maxtor, including executive vice president and general manager of the company's server products group for the three years, senior vice president of desktop engineering, and vice president of engineering. Prior to his tenure at Maxtor, which began in 1994, he also held several executive- and senior-level positions with Cornice Inc. and IBM.

   

Karen Hanlon

Karen Hanlon – Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources

Karen Hanlon is responsible for leading Seagate’s global human resources efforts, including: compensation and benefits, leadership and learning, staffing and on-boarding, global HR central transaction centers, global HR compliance, global HR business partners and HR Business Excellence/Six Sigma.  Hanlon joined Seagate in 1990 and has served in a variety of HR leadership positions based both in the US and in Asia. 

Ms. Hanlon has held leadership positions at Read-Rite Corporation, IRM Corporation, and Electronic Data Systems.  She has a Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a Bachelor’s degree from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa.

Sherman Black

Sherman Black - Senior Vice President and GM, Enterprise Compute Business

Sherman Black is responsible for Seagate's Enterprise Compute Business, which comprises a broad range of high-capacity, high-performance hard drives for today's mission-critical IT environments. Black was most recently vice president of OEM Sales, where he was responsible for all global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) accounts. Black has also held a number of executive positions at the company, including Vice President of Business Development and Enterprise Product Line Management in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Prior to joining Seagate in 1988, Black was a design engineer at Hitachi Computer Products.

   

Phil Pollok

Phil Pollok - Senior Vice President and GM, New Business Initiatives

Phil Pollok is responsible for Seagate’s New Business Initiatives organization, which plays an important incubator role at Seagate, focusing on nurturing select new opportunities that may be important revenue streams in the future.

Pollok joined Seagate in November, 2005. He was most recently with Philips Semiconductors, where he led the company’s Emerging Business Group, driving new business opportunities based on new technologies, products and markets. He’s also held senior management positions with Mitel Semiconductor, GEC Plessey Semiconductors and Ferranti Interdesign.

   

Pat King

Pat King—Senior Vice President and GM, Consumer Electronics

Pat King is responsible for building upon Seagate’s leadership position in the consumer electronics business, which includes storage solutions for DVRs, gaming consoles and handheld/portable devices. In this role, King collaborates with the company’s sales team in serving CE customers and identifying new revenue sources, and partnering with the Seagate design organization in development of products to address current and future opportunities in this fast-growing market.

Prior to joining Seagate in January of 2007, King was group general manager for Eastman Kodak’s printing systems business. He also held leadership positions at Lexmark International, Micron Technology and Bausch & Lomb.

   

Mark Grace

Mark Grace – Senior Vice President and GM, Seagate Services

Mark Grace is responsible for the definition of strategy with regard to storage services as a diversification opportunity for the core business. EVault and Seagate Recovery Services, both of which are currently independent operating subsidiaries of the company, report to Grace.

Since joining Seagate in 1998, he has held various executive positions including Senior Vice President of Sales Operations and Customer Service, Vice President of Global Logistics, Fulfillment and Customer Service, Vice President of Indirect Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics and Vice President of Worldwide Customer Quality.  

Prior to joining Seagate, he held management positions as IBM.  Grace has both Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Science degrees in Industrial Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Dave Mosley—Senior Vice President of Global Disc Storage Operations

Dave Mosley is responsible for Seagate’s manufacturing operations, including all recording head and recording media manufacturing, in addition to hard drive manufacturing, ensuring that the company’s operational and supply chain capabilities remain a competitive differentiator.

Since joining Seagate in 1996 as a manager of manufacturing operations, Mosley has held a variety of posts, including: senior director for R&D engineering; vice president and site management team leader for the company’s Longmont, Colorado, operation, and he’s led Seagate’s emerging products development team.

Prior to joining Seagate, Mosley held technical positions at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Micropolis and Conner Peripherals.

   
 

Jerry Glembocki - Senior Vice President, Heads & Media

Jerry Glembocki is Seagate’s Senior Vice President of Recording Heads and Recording Media, responsible for overseeing all component research, product development, hard drive integration, production launch, materials, and volume production activities for the worldwide operations relating to recording heads and  recording media, which are located in the U.S., Asia and Europe. Glembocki joined Seagate as Vice President of Engineering for Seagate’s Recording Media Group in the February 1996 merger with Conner Peripherals. Prior to joining Conner, Glembocki held positions at Domain Technology and IBM.

   
 

Dr. Pornchai Piemsomboon – Senior Vice President, Asia Manufacturing Operations

Dr. Piemsomboon is responsible for the company's manufacturing operations in Asia, including China, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.  Previously, he was senior vice president of recording head operations and was responsible for all manufacturing operations, including Wafer, Slider and Assembly in four different countries and eight manufacturing plants.  Dr. Piemsomboon has also held a number of positions at Seagate including senior vice president, Thailand operations, vice president of engineering, and executive director of engineering.   Prior to joining Seagate in 1987, Dr. Piemsomboon was a development engineer at Flopetrol Johnson.

Dr. Piemsomboon has a Doctorate of Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

   
 

John Scaramuzzo – Senior Vice President, Quality

John Scaramuzzo joined Seagate in 2006 as part of the company’s merger with Maxtor to lead the company’s quality operations. While at Maxtor, he held various leadership positions including executive vice president of worldwide research and development, senior vice president and general manager of enterprise products group and vice president of enterprise product development.  Scaramuzzo has held engineering positions at both Quantum Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation. 

Scaramuzzo graduated with a Master of Science degree in Electrical Science from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Boston University.

   
 

Dr. Mark Brewer – Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Mark Brewer is responsible for the company’s IT strategy and infrastructure including both the business systems and the manufacturing execution systems.  Since joining Seagate in 1992, Brewer has held IT leadership positions in the US and in Asia. Previously he held various positions at AT&T Network Systems. Brewer has a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
